Updated 8/8 – see updates at end of article.
Shortly after patch Tuesday I started getting reports of folks on Citrix Virtual Desktops having problems using the mouse to select objects such as column headers and button in various web apps and Excel. The mouse starts jumping around or won’t move where you want it to go. We recently upgraded most of our Workspace clients to 2503.10 to fix the black box issue in published apps, so we were suspicious of that. Upon investigating, the issue can be reproduced with any version Workspace Client and Windows 11 clients accessing a Citrix Windows 11 desktop. I tested using the Citrix HTML5 Client and the issue goes away, so seems to be a Workspace client issue but no one else was reporting it at the time.
There’s now a Reddit thread and supposedly Citrix has a fix. Citrix also has it listed in the Known Issues list at the bottom of this KB: CITRIX | Support
I’ve opened a ticket with Citrix but so far they’ve just given me the work around mentioned and we are testing it.

I’ll follow up once I hear back from Citrix on a permanent fix.
Update 07/31/25: I received this information from Citrix Support.
“MS made a change to the IDD Framework in their July Updates for both Win10 and WIN11 that affected Mouse behavior. This affected the Citrix specific IDD. Citrix has made a code change for Citrix server-side single session VDAs that fixes the issue. We are working on making these fixes available to the Public. The current workaround is to implement the registry key.”
Update 8/8/25: Citrix has come out with a fix. Make sure to remove the registry key workaround before implementing this. Known issue where mouse Cursor Jumps Erratically after Microsoft July 2025 patches

Thanks!
